What is a STEM School?

A European STEM School is defined as a school with a clear STEM strategy, characterised by different key elements and criteria.

Summary of the Webinar and Project:

The objective of the STEM School Label is to guide European schools in increasing young Europeans’ interest and skills in STEM subjects and to provide the schools with the necessary tools to engage their students, teachers and other actors in related activities by developing an appropriate STEM strategy.  With the STEM School Label, schools will be able to evaluate their school via an online self-assessment tool according to the criteria defining a STEM School. This self-assessment tool will identify required areas of development and provide training and resources for applicant schools to improve their STEM activities at the school level.

This webinar will be offered by the European Union SCIENTIX, National Contact Point Coordinator, NCP, Dr. Daithí Ó Murchú, and the Dublin West Education Centre.  It will enable schools to better understand the STEM Label and the overall process of achieving the EU Award and become an EU, STEM School.  For more information visit
